The entire 4000 square-foot lodge is only rented out to one group at a time. It will be 100% exclusive to your party. This property is located in southern Illinois in the center of the United States. Easy access within 1.5 hours East of the St. Louis Missouri airport (Lambert Field) and we are located approximately 4.5 hours South of the Chicago Illinois airport (Ohara and Midway). This lodge is built out of timbers from the Evansville Indiana railroad station and are approximately 153 years old. The property is surrounded by woods and water. The 1/2 mile driveway brings you back to this secluded retreat with a 15 acre lake in the front yard. This lake provides row boating and paddle boating, fishing, and a beautiful stationary dock with a 14 foot diving board. The 20 acre lake in the backyard is 38 foot deep and has a covered boat dock with a 14 foot pontoon boat and trolling motor for great fishing experiences. A picnic table is situated on this pontoon boat to make for great eat on board enjoyment while you enjoy the wilderness. The primary two species of fish in both lakes are bluegill and largemouth bass. If you hunt deer you are probably reading this with the expectation of harvesting the big bucks that Illinois is known for. Don't forget your field glasses, binoculars and telescope. Your only 8 miles from downtown Mt Vernon Illinois, but it's not unusual to pick up planets, comets, and even the space station with the right equipment. The two-story lodge is over 4000ft.² with an open concept on the second level with three semi private beds/bedrooms that sleeps nine or more. The upstairs bedrooms are semi private. This second level also offers a large bathroom with both a corner shower and a claw-foot slipper bathtub. The main level offers two private bedrooms, the master bedroom is over 500 ft.² of geothermal heated floors and 15 feet of glass that overlooks the west lake. The main floor bathroom offers a large shower with a sitdown area and a two person air tub with bubbles, and heated back rest. This main bathroom can be entered by either of the main floor bedrooms. Also just added a newly constructed third entrance from the great room to the main floor bathroom. The main level also provides a large kitchen and a main dining room table that can seat 10 comfortably and up to 14 if necessary. An additional bar and surrounding dining table can seat 7 to 8 more. The family room is very large with geothermal floors and a 60 inch flat-screen TV. Exercise in the family room with bow-flex extreme equipment and a MP3 spirit running track. Top all of this off with a sunken spa/pool. This endless pool is the largest available and the kids will love it. This pool provides approximately 92 degrees temperature geothermalcally heated water and a wave that can be adjusted for endless swimming against the current. Relax at the end of the pool in seated area with Jacuzzi bubbles massaging your body and windows surrounding yourself! The pool has four different depths. 48 inch, 40 inch, 28 inch and 16 inch. Staying at the lodge reserves the use of all the boats, even the pontoon boat with a bamimi top with trolling motor and 2 batteries. Located on the boat is a picnic table and four swivel seats. Lakeside ranch is an active cattle farm. If you would be interested in purchasing a fed out black Angus steer, just let us know. Typically the steer will weigh around 1100 pounds on the hoof. We deliver the animal to the processor, and you will pay them around $350 for 600 to 700 pounds of meat! We have cattle being delivered to the processor mid September 2020 and January 2021. The price is $2000 for a steer or $1100 for a half steer. A 50% deposit is needed when your order is placed. Just added! Cell phone booster antennas. We went from 1 to 2 bars to an easy 3 to 4 bar antenna strength. The children will enjoy the teeter totter, the clubhouse and slide, swings, sandbox, and a really fast merry go round! Lake Side Ranch Lodge also provides two grills. A standard size propane grill with a side burner and an extra large kettle grill that burns both charcoal and wood. You can put around 150 hamburgers on this grill! Newly added LED lights on the west covered dock for nighttime fishing. Check in time is 5 PM, and check out time is 9 AM. Sometimes we can offer an early check-in or late check out. If this is something that you would desire, we would need to know when your reservation is placed. Extra help for cleaning is brought in when this occurs. There is a $50 per hour additional charge payable when you check in.

The Bunkhouse is a fantastic place for families and friends to reconnect and make lasting memories. With walk-in lake access, this is the ideal spot to put in a kayak, canoe, or float. Enjoy swimming and fishing for a variety of fish including bass, crappie, catfish, or bluegill. Boat rentals and slips are available at both the Blue Gill Marina and Larson’s Landing. The Bunkhouse is quiet and peaceful, it is located at the end of Illini cove surrounded by trees, water and wildlife. This cozy cabin was constructed in 2020 and is a wonderful place to unwind and spend time in nature. Our front deck is perfect for bird watching and animal spying while soaking up some sun. Don’t be surprised if you spot a blue heron, turtles bathing in the sun, or even an occasional bald eagle. The lower walk out area includes a grill, picnic table and beautiful views of the lake. There is a fire pit for hanging out, roasting marshmallows and enjoying the night sky. Amenities include a washer and dryer, WIFI, 4 TVs, a dishwasher, air conditioning and heating, a full kitchen stocked with pots and pans, dishes, and everything needed to prepare your own meals. Downstairs is a kitchenette which includes a snack area and full coffee bar. Enjoy a night in by playing one of a variety of board games or simply find a quiet place to read a book. Numerous smart TV’s are available to stream your Netflix or Hulu account, as well as a DVD player for old school movie viewing. A large parking area is available for up to 6 cars. Our 2300 square feet 3 bedroom, two bath home, located on a cove of Lake Sara has everything you need to enjoy a lakefront getaway with family and friends. With 180 degree views of the lake from the house, a large lakeside patio with swim pier great for swimming, fishing, and kayaking from (4 kayaks included for your enjoyment), a large front yard for outdoor games, and fire pit for night, you will have plenty of outdoor fun for all. We purchased this home in August of 2017 so all of the mattresses are new as is the lakeside patio. The house has a full kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave and the dining room has a large table that will easily fit everyone for meals or games. The dining room opens to a living room with both rooms looking out at the lake. There is also a large screened in porch that faces the lake. The walk-out basement is furnished with a pool table and twin/full bunk bed. Our home has two bedrooms upstairs each with its own sink and king size bed. The downstairs bedroom has two twin beds and an upper floor TV room has a pub table, a group seating area, and a fantastic view of the lake. We do not have cable, but the TV is hooked up to our Roku and a Blu-Ray player. Both bathrooms have shower stalls in them with the upstairs bath also having a bathtub. Our driveway and carport have plenty of room for multiple vehicles. The house is 950 square feet, with upscale amenities. Everything is freshly painted with all new furniture/bedding and carpet in the living area. The kitchen opens into the nice sized family room and this leads to a large 3 season room, with an additional deck. The brand new 3 season room(coming Spring 2020) has a comfy couch and chair to relax in. There is also a small table to sit at for your morning coffee. The new renovated bathroom(coming Spring 2020) has a 5 foot walk in shower and everything else is new! Take the gently sloping steps down to an amazing boat dock. The dock has kayaks, a paddle board plenty of seating. At the dock there is a kitchen, a bathroom, a gas grill and tons of space to be right on the water, along with a sundeck for the roof of the dock. This home is located in a safe swimming cove. Fisherman and families alike love this property for all that it offers. (Please note that the covered slip is not available for guests boats-the lifts our boat on it-not available to use). Located in the heart of central Illinois, the Redbud Cottage at Lake Sara is a great destination for families or friends, or a perfect stopover for a trip through the Great Midwest. With your own swimming beach, a floating dock to play on, a beautiful wood-burning fireplace, a dock for fishing, and a large deck for sitting in the sun, enjoy the peace and quiet of our little wooded cottage on the lake. Our beach is SHARED by the Hartmann's grandchildren a few days each Summer. But our grandchildren are still young, will be supervised by adults, and won't use the beach while guests are using the beach or the dock (for example while fishing). Every season is beautiful on Lake Sara, with Spring and Fall being particularly pretty and quiet. The Summer water is wonderful for swimming, and warm from May through September. Enjoy eating on our old family picnic table by the water. Watch the kids swim or play on the beach, or have fun taking a lovely float yourself in Lake Sara's clean, warm water. Wake boarding, tubing, and water skiing are local favorites. There is good fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, and blue gill, especially in the Spring and Fall. Lake Sara sets aside special quiet hours for fishermen. Winter is a great time for crisp woodsy walks and warming fires. Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage sleeps up to 7 in our 3 king size beds and a couple of wonderful wide sleeping couches in front of the fireplace. We have a nice kitchen with a Keurig Coffemaker, a French coffee press, a dishwasher, and all new dishes and pots and pans. Our washer and dryer and two-car garage make this a perfect spot for an extended stay. A canoe and a kayak available for the use of our guests. Inside, enjoy the separation of a master suite upstairs, as well as the two-and-a-half story, book-filled living room with its massive stone fireplace. You can burn local wood that you'll find stacked at your door. One of our favorite sports is sitting with a book in front of the fire--wine and s'mores are optional. Our lot is full of tall, beautiful oaks and maples, and is in a pretty neighborhood on the quiet western end of Lake Sara. Redbud trees line Lorton road and are being planted among our woods, bringing their vivid purple/pink flowers in Spring. Views from our huge deck are all water and trees--you can only see one other house. The Lake is surrounded by good Illinois farmland, so it's a wonderful spot for long flat bike rides and walks.

The master bathroom comes with a jacuzzi tub for two and separate shower and the hallway bathroom has a traditional tub/shower combo. There is cable tv and wireless internet for your use. There is a flatscreen HD smart tv ( access Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts) and dvd player in the living room and another flat screen HD smart tv in the basement for any separate viewing needs. The basement also has a ping pong table and use on a rainy afternoon. Outdoor amenities include two picnic tables - one in the yard and one at the dock, hammock for some lazy day napping and reading, and stocked bird feeders for the company of local hummingbirds, orioles, woodpeckers, etc. There is a gradual concrete walkway down to the water and a dock to tie up your boat. The dock has a concrete roof and railing and is equipped with a fire pit and umbrella table and chairs. There is also a canoe for your morning paddles around the cove. The property has central air conditioning and heating for your comfort. There is also a washer and dryer with an iron and ironing board for your convenience. There driveway will easily accommodate four vehicles. There are two marinas on Lake Sara. Both are terrific. Stop in for gas or check them out for your snack, soda, beer or liquor needs. They also rent pontoon boats, tubes and kayaks for your water fun. Bluegill marina and Larson's Landing are both on the lake for gas, etc. Effingham is less than 5 miles away and has a host of dining options including Firefly Grill, Gabby Goat Tavern & Gopher Grill. There is even a new downtown hometown brewery, Effing brew Company, featuring its own homemade brew. These and many more local watering holes feature excellent menus as well as enough craft beers to satisfy even the most discriminating "hop heads". Despite its small town status, Effingham and Lake Sara offer much to do, great food and drink, for family and friend get togethers alike.

Please read THOROUGHLY before booking. This adorable 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom park model sits among all of Lake Sara & its glory. The home sleeps 4 people in beds but could maybe fit another 1 or 2 on the floor in sleeping bags. The large lot has room for tents to be pitched and has a fire pit for those evening bonfires. Large front porch is a great place to enjoy some coffee, to eat meals with nature, or grill out with the gas grill provided. Located just a short jaunt to the water where you can cast a line. This rental is available from April 1st until October 1st each year. This rental is far from PERFECT. We are a LAKE rental in a campground. Our rates range from $99/night to $150/night on holidays. We are by far the best quality but we do provide a place to lay your head and relax at the lake. Please do not expect modern, high end things here. The bed even may be too firm for your liking...we can not possibly please everyone. You may be worried about the reviews you see but we have fixed nearly 99% of the issues people mentioned in the reviews. We strive to provide you with all the necessary things you would need during your stay. The home has a fully stocked kitchen, beach and bath towels, and linens. There is no washer & dryer so please try to be economically friendly and reuse the towels to avoid additional fees for extra laundry upon check out. We provide a coffee pot and the occasional mix-in. Please bring your own coffee to use! In the living room there is a stereo for use that offers surround sound throughout the cabin (pretty neat) For those hot and sweaty summer days, the rental has central a.c. AND the unit pumps! Works really well. The campground itself is not far from Effingham..only about 5-10 minutes depending on where you want to go. Larson's landing and Pinky's (the new restaurant/bar on Lake Sara) is right across the street. Very convenient for those who would want a night out but don't want to have to drive far. Bring your golf cart if you have one! The area is close to Cardinal golf course and having your own golf cart at the campground makes getting around really convenient. We no longer provide a kayak with the rental. Unfortunately, our paddles kept disappearing from the rental site so we are no longer having that option available to guests. We have an adorable park model that is located in the campground of Lake Sara. Don't be fooled by the looks of is plenty of space in this rental. In the home there is only 1 actual bedroom with a queen sized bed but there is a loft area that sleeps 6 as well with two full sized beds on both sides of the loft area, 1 full sized blow up mattress, along with a sofa sleeper in the living room that sleeps 2 more. The loft area is very spacious and could sleep many additional kids if needed. The home itself is spacious and offers everything you should need during your stay. There is no washer/dryer but the campground has coin laundry available. There is one spacious bathroom in the home that has a tub & a shower but there is also a shower facility within the campground and is nearby. That facility is VERY clean and recently updated. Within the campground you are also able to pitch a tent or two outside of the home, which is something you can NOT do around the rest of Lake Sara, so we think that is pretty cool. There is a charcoal grill outside for cooking out & also a little bonfire pit for nightly hangouts. We have made this rental at the campground available for year around rental capability. Cabin offers a canoe for use, a couple generic life jackets, and a couple noodles for floats. Please feel free to use but put back when finished. If anything ends up lost or broken, please let me know so we can replace as needed. Fishing license required for anyone over the age of 16. The home does have A.C! There is a boat slip included with the stay.

Whether you bring your own boat, rent one from a local marina, or enjoy the nearby beaches there is plenty of fun to be had on Illinois’ largest manmade lake. Other things to note We do not currently have WiFi. Also, if you bring your own boat you can launch it nearby at the Keyesport boat ramp and then tie it up on the shore of the Harbor Light beach area that is not designated for swimming.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need during your stay. A Smart tv is located in the living room upstairs & living room downstairs. We do NOT offer Direct TV. bring your firesticks or PW for netflix, amazon, etc. A washer & dryer is available for your use as well downstairs. The home has central air conditioning & heat. We do have wi-fi...all the connection instructions will be inside the home. Outside there is large deck off the house that is great for entertaining or eating a meal. We have a charcoal grill on the deck for your use to grill out. There is a fire pit outside for your use. We do not usually stock firewood so I would recommend getting some beforehand for your use. If there is wood provided, feel free to use some of it. A short path leads down to the boat dock from the large deck, there you will find Adirondack chairs for relaxation & floats for use in the water. The door on the left side of the boat house has floats & noodles for use. Please be respectful of the neighbors and keep noise to a minimum later in the evenings. Failure to do so will result in funds taken from deposit. If anything is damaged during your stay PLEASE let us know so we can replace what has been broken. We use this home as well as our home away from home retreat with our family. Anything you may find in the fridge as far as condiments or in the pantry or freezer, was food that we may have bought for use during our stay. Everyone is more than welcome to consume these items, but please do not throw anything away unless it has expired/gone bad. The property its placed on 9 acres of land ,with a private lake and wonderful view . Very private and quiet .If you like to spend a couple of days away from the city this will be the perfect place for you. 400 ft balcony above the water it gives a beautiful sunset view. You can enjoy fishing. We will provide the fishing boat. You can also enjoy biking, walking to the near woods area. Guests will have access to the whole place, washer and dryer. I will be available by phone if you need anything. We are 4 miles away from downtown Newton where u can find gas stations, grocery stores. The house is also 20 minutes away from downtown Effingham where u can find restaurants, shopping malls, bars, coffee shops. The house was built like a hunting lodge in mind . The walls are decorated with antique guns (which are not funtionable instead they are only artifacts),taxidermy figures to create the perfect image of a European hunting lodge.

We have a great place for fishermen and hunters to stay (of course families are welcome). This rental is a newly remodeled home located in the small town of Waltonville, IL. It is a two-bedroom house with two full-size beds and two twin size beds available. The living room has a full size pull out sleeper sofa. That's five beds, however, you could sleep 2 in the full-size beds. It could possibly sleep up to 8 people. It has a full kitchen with pots, skillets, cups, glasses, plates, bowls, and silverware, etc. Also available are: a microwave, toaster, crockpot, and coffee pot. All linens, pillows, towels, and washcloths are available to use. The house is also equipped with a washer and dryer. There is a charcoal grill, pub-style table, and chairs for your outdoor enjoyment. There is plenty of room for your boat with the ability to charge boat batteries. The area is great for hunting deer, turkeys, and other wildlife. If you are a golfer- Mt. Vernon and Rend Lake have a golf course. This rental is about five minutes from a Rend Lake boat dock (Waltonville, Turnip Patch, Jackie Branch) It is about 13 miles south of Mt. Vernon, 7 miles from Nason, and 8 miles north of Sesser, IL. This house is located near several restaurants and gas stations. Please feel free to ask any questions.

There is a family style restaurant/convenience store/bait shop approx. 5 minutes away. The town of Mount Vernon is 15 minutes away and has many restaurants and stores including Lowes, Walmart, McDonalds, Applebees, ETC. The cabin has a Queen bed, bunk-bed, sleeper sofa and extra sofa. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Will sleep seven if you use the sleeper sofa and couch. Washer/dryer in unit. Dishes and appliances and full kitchen. Front porch with chairs. BBQ grill and a pavilion and picnic table. Has new Tommy Hilfiger pillows and bedding. Ariel television with 26 channels and WIFI

Nice 2 story cabin in secluded wooded area sitting on point of lake. Upstairs has 1 king size bed and 1 queen size bed. Full bath and walk in closet. Walk out into a small deck. Downstairs has full kitchen with dishwasher and washer and dryer. Large walk-in pantry. Half bath downstairs. Nice size living room. Stocked lake with fishing allowed with some restrictions. Water foul hunting for an additional fee in season.

Located on 40 acres of secluded tranquility. It's rustic but it's not roughing it. Enjoy the view from the spacious deck overlooking rolling hills of timber, native grasslands and a large creek. Abundant wildlife (deer, turkeys, coyotes, foxes, squirrels, etc.) for viewing and hiking trails to experience the unspoiled habitat. The property is located at the end of an all-season road. You're likely to see absolutely no one except for your family/friends for the entire stay.

We have a great place for fishermen and hunters to stay (of course families are welcome). This guest house was built in 2017 that will easily accommodate up to four people. It has a full size bed with a twin bunk above, a twin bed, and a sleeper sofa. We also have an air mattress but I am not so sure how comfortable that would be. We have a fish cleaning station and plenty of room for your boat with the ability to charge batteries. There is an outdoor grill available, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, electric skillet, and coffee pot. We now have a bonus room available for your use that includes a stove, another large TV, and a half bath The bed linens are available along with bath towels and dish towels. There is a fire pit (you will need to provide the wood) and plenty of chairs for your outdoor enjoyment. Our location is near several restaurants and gas stations.
